In Florida, people have the right to propose amendments to the Florida constitution through the initiative petition process. Sponsors of these initiatives must obtain a required number of verified/valid signatures in order for the initiative to go on the General Election ballot.

Pursuant to Florida Statute 100.371(11)b Wakulla County's actual cost of signature verification of an initiative petition is $0.40.
